The Australian Dance Assessment Program (ADAP) is structured on sound technical principals, and is recognised universally, being of the highest standard of its kind and is VET accredited.
By studying the ADAP syllabus students can go on to study for their Certificate IV in Dance Teaching with Australian Dance Vision (ADV). It is currently the only VET accreditation recognised by the Australian Government in Dance Teaching, giving students the opportunity to add a dance-teaching career to their future prospects.
ADAP offers a more holistic approach to dance; one that brings dance in line with educational standards and gives students the opportunity of including dance as a school curriculum subject.
Under the A.D.A.P system children can enjoy dance whilst learning theory, history, musicality, anatomy, mime, choreography and improvisation.
A.D.A.P also recognises that if the student wishes to be assessed (optional at our school) they may not be at their best on the actual assessment day. As such, each lesson the student is scaled, and these marks are taken into consideration when a final assessment mark is awarded. |
